Mike LaTella is a certified addiction counselor, founder of LifeSwitch Addiction Counseling Services, and owner and operator of LifeSwitch Driving Academy in Peachtree City, Georgia.
His work is guided by a straightforward purpose: helping people overcome problems related to alcohol and drug use and build lives with greater purpose, peace, and happiness. Mike brings professional training, experience in recovery, and a longstanding commitment to his community to that work.
A Personal Journey Into Recovery
Mike’s sobriety date is May 21, 2010. His recovery from alcoholism became a turning point in his life and helped shape his decision to support others facing similar challenges.
For Mike, sobriety is connected to finding purpose, rebuilding a life, and following God’s direction. His faith remains an important part of his personal story and his motivation to serve others.
He founded LifeSwitch Addiction Counseling Services in 2018 as an expression of that commitment. LifeSwitch Driving Academy extends the same purpose through education and services that help people understand their choices and move forward.
Education and Professional Credentials
Mike earned his undergraduate degree at Georgia State University and his Master of Science in Addiction Counseling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
His professional credentials include:
- Certified Addiction Counselor II (CAC-II)
- Certified Master Addiction Counselor (CMAC)
- Certification through the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to conduct alcohol and drug evaluations for local and state courts
Mike serves on the boards of the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) and the Georgia Association of Risk Reduction Professionals (GARRP). These roles reflect his involvement in the professional communities supporting addiction counseling and DUI Risk Reduction education in Georgia.
He is also listed as a preferred counseling partner with North Point Ministries and volunteers at Healing Bridge in Peachtree City, helping people who cannot afford appropriate treatment
His background in counseling and DUI education connects the LifeSwitch Driving Academy's services with an understanding of substance use, recovery, and responsible decision-making.
Alcohol and Drug Evaluations Across Georgia
Mike provides alcohol and drug evaluations through LifeSwitch, with virtual appointments available to people throughout Georgia.
An evaluation provides an opportunity to assess a person’s alcohol or drug use and identify appropriate recommendations. For someone referred by a court or another agency, understanding the process can make it easier to approach the appointment and follow through on the next steps.
LifeSwitch offers information about both court-ordered drug and alcohol evaluations and DUI clinical evaluations, so visitors can learn about the service relevant to their circumstances.

Mike has lived in Peachtree City for more than forty years. He and his wife, Pam, have three adult children who live in the Atlanta area.
His family, faith, and connection to the community remain central to his life. Through LifeSwitch, he continues to help others work toward the possibility of a healthier and more purposeful future.
