LifeSwitch Driving Academy

Is a driving school certified by the state of Georgia's Department of Driver Services (DDS) to offer educational courses that comply with requirements that must be met for first time drivers to earn their Class "D" driver's license.

LifeSwitch offers the necessary 30-hour "Joshua's Law" course in a live, instructor-led, classroom environment. Additionally, LifeSwitch provides the vital six hours of "behind-the-wheel" instruction which is one-on-one, and split into three two-hour sessions. There is no prerequisite driving knowledge required; and additional instruction is available in two-hour increments for those who want it.

Finally, upon course completion, LifeSwitch provides each student with the state DDS Parent/Student program guide and log book eliminating any confusion or ambiguity in what else Georgia requires including what to bring to the DDS office with the student goes to get their license.

BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING

This summer, LifeSwitch experienced a significant increase in students for Joshua’s Law and behind-the-wheel instruction. We’re grateful to have helped so many new drivers earn their licenses!

With school back in session and daylight hours shorter, scheduling driving lessons has become more challenging. To meet our commitments to current students, we are temporarily pausing new behind-the-wheel appointments.

In the meantime, we have two live classroom Joshua’s Law courses before the end of the year—one during Thanksgiving break and one during Christmas break. Students who complete these classes will receive priority scheduling for behind-the-wheel instruction when we resume.

Being elgible to get your Class "D" Driver's License at 16 is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Teens aged 15, 16 and 17 must complete an approved driver education course to obtain their Class D driver's license. This course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel training.

    Satisfy Georgia's requirement for new licensee driving including six hours of "behind-the-wheel" instruction offered at LifeSwitch
